Becoming a Soldier; or, Learning How to Not Think
I completed U.S. Army Basic Combat Training (BCT) from January to March 1986 with E Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Basic Training Brigade, Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. After surprising my drill sergeants by actually graduating, I transferred to the U.S. Army Quartermaster School at Ft. Lee, Virginia for specialty training. I completed Advanced Individual Training (AIT) from March to April 1986 with C Company, 1st Battalion, Quartermaster Brigade. I completed the Materiel Storage and Handling Specialist (76V10) (That's "warehouseman" in civilian.) course at the top of my class and was cited as the Distinguished Honor Graduate.
