For the Love of Leo!
by Elizabeth Erin Dahm
Thank you, Mr. Iceberg
You've done us a great deed
By killing the greatest actor
(or so it's been decreed)
Within the icy waters
We get to see him float
As there goes on sinking
His precious little boat
Splutter, splutter
Leonardo
For you, there'll be
No tomorrow
And as we see you dying
We'll laugh until we crack
As we are glared upon
By the rabid Titaniacs
We all laugh
As we see him die
While you sissies
Start to cry
I know, I know
He's still alive
Up and kicking
Immortalized
You just let me think he's dead
And I won't tease you cruelly
I'll refrain myself from saying
"You morons! It's just a movie!"

Notes
I'd like to credit Matt for the creative title he gave me. This poem actually was written before I had seen Titanic, so all of you Titaniacs might recognize some errors in my poem. An example would be in the second stanza, since Leo and Kate are actually some of the last to go under and the boat is gone by the time Leo floats. I'd also like to mention that "Titaniac" is a word, though you probably wouldn't find it in Webster's. One certain Titaniac got very angry at me for using it. I read it in Newsweek. This was written sometime in early 1998.
