Please note:
Award Sites! is an online organization which sets standards for website award programs so that interested parties can know the relative quality of the award based on strict criteria and rules.
Having been established in 1997, Award Sites! is perhaps the oldest such organization.
My emphasis on the Award Sites! rating system is not meant to impune other awards rating systems or independent awards even though I consider all such awards to be "unrated" for my purposes.
As of 21 November 2002, Award Sites! no longer uses the 2.0 and 1.0 ratings.
As of 5 March 2011, though I privilege Award Sites! as described above, I also acknowledge the ratings of other awards rating systems earned by an award program. To that end, I recognize AWARD, Belgica, UWSAG, WebsAwards, and WSAPTRONIC.
As of 17 May 2012, awards rated by a recognized rating system, but not Award Sites! as well, will no longer be posted as "unrated" awards. In addition to their posting in the numbered Trophy Case pages, such awards will receive additional acknowledgement on the appropriate Listed and Displayed pages linked below. Only truly independent awards will be posted as "unrated" awards.
As of 1 July 2013, the WebsAwards rating system was closed, and its website was taken down. Award programs will continue to be acknowledged by their rating at that time if such is known.
As of 24 March 2014, the venerable Award Sites! awards rating system (1997-2014) had ceased operations, and its website had been converted to an archive of its highest rated programs. Award programs will continue to be acknowledged by their last Award Sites! rating if such is known.
As of 7 July 2014, the Belgica rating system had been closed, and its website had been taken down. Award programs will continue to be acknowledged by their rating at that time if such is known.
As of 11 July 2014, the UWSAG rating system had been closed, and its website had been taken down. Award programs will continue to be acknowledged by their rating at that time if such is known.
As of 25 July 2015, the WSAPTRONIC rating system had been closed, and its website had been taken down. Award programs will continue to be acknowledged by their rating at that time if such is known.
